Incentive Plan

As a proven and promising Entrepreneurship Incentive Plan (EIP) Candidate, you have communicated a clear vision for the expansion or creation of a product, service, or experience that will contribute to the building of a strong economy for Florenceville-Bristol.

Determined on a case-by-case basis, the District of Carleton North EIP is designed to further support and assist entrepreneurs who:

A)   have successfully operated and/or revitalized and/or expanded an existing business for at least two years (or equivalent training and experience).

B)   possess the aptitude and credentials indicating market readiness and capacity to operate a new business.

C)   can demonstrate investment capacity of a minimum of 20% of the overall total business start-up and/or project cost.

 

Criteria

The EIP is to be pursued in combination with all other means of financial support available to qualifying entrepreneurs.  Examples include but are not limited to: financing and/or assistance using traditional (eg: banks) and/or alternative lending/financing sources (eg. peer-to-peer financing, crowdfunding) and/or public sector lending sources such as the Province of New Brunswick, the Government of Canada, Canadian Business Development Corporation (CBDC), etc.

 Upon completion of the above, Candidates may apply for non-repayable access to capital and/or non-capital assistance.

Candidate Eligibility Requirements

EIP Candidate requirements include, but may not be limited to Operators who:

  • have successfully operated and/or revitalized and/or expanded an existing business for at least two years (or equivalent training and experience)

  • possess the aptitude and credentials indicating market readiness and the capacity to operate a business

  • are in good standing with the Town and Community

  • submit a fully completed EIP application form

  • score a minimum of 70% resulting from subjecting the proposed plan through the EIP Screener, as found within this Information Guide and Application Form

 

Eligible Benefits

Considered on a case-by-case basis, eligible benefits for the EIP are:

  • Non-repayable fixed-asset capital assistance not to exceed 25% of the total project cost to a maximum of $25,000

OR

  • Non-repayable assistance for non-capital development of a revenue producing product, service, or experience not to exceed 10% of the total project cost to a maximum of $10,000
